Hi John,
We use 1/4" double tempered Duron. It holds up well. We did try 1/4" MDF in
our black box, and even with a good coat of floor paint and sealer it still
needed to be replaced after 1 summer. So no savings there!
We also found that painting both sides of the sheets and edges before you
put it down prevents major warping in temperature changes. It's an extra
step, but we never have any bulging sheets. Good Luck!
