See below the IALD is having an event in conjunction with Water Fire in
Providence this Saturday and we were able to include a student price.

Water Fire event in Providence, RI USA on 15 September. Cocktails and hors
d'oeuvres will be served at Speakeasy under 121 room in the Local 121
Restaurant from 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Local 121 uses local artists for all of
their dinner wares and local farmers for fresh seasonal menus. Attendees
will have the opportunity to walk the river and experience the romance, art
and music that encompasses the surroundings.

Malecki West of William KITE Architects Inc will be there to reprise her
popular TEDx talk, "This is the Place." Christine is excited to be a part of
the unique creative community that makes Providence special and is a firm
believer in environmentally and economically sustainable urban
neighborhoods. Christine extends her interest in vibrant cities into
community service. For the City of Providence, she serves on the Building
Board of Review, the Downcity Design Review Committee, the Environmental
Sustainability Task Force, and has participated in the stakeholder work
sessions for the rezoning of Providence's Knowledge District including the
I-195 parcels. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Providence
Revolving Fund and the Providence Preservation Society. 

Water Fire is an award-winning art and light experience created by Barnaby
Evans of Providence, RI USA. At sunset, Water Fire torch holders slowly and
silently float down the river, lighting the basins one by one. The
sculptured fire basins have been installed on three rivers to light up
Waterplace Park in downtown Providence and represent the Renaissance culture
within the city. There will be live music by the Latin Heartbeat Orchestra,
dancing lessons, street artists, live bands and much more. For more
