The Theater Offensive is seeking a Technical Director for the 2009 Out on the Edge Festival at the Calderwood Pavilion, in Deane Hall (Rehearsal Hall B). Contract period begins immediately and ends at conclusion of strike November 15. Production dates are Oct. 29 through Nov. 14. Salary is negotiable. 

Two plays will be presented each of the three weeks of the festival (total of 6 plays). 
The TD's duties are as follows:
•	Attend production meetings, supervise strike, load in, technical rehearsals.
•	Provide onsite supervision of all technical staff and volunteers. 
•	Oversee and manage all aspects of production; rigging, light hang, basic construction, projections, and sound.
•	Be available to fix any design elements or troubleshoot any technical problems throughout the run of the festival.
•	Guarantee all crew, intern, designer and staff compliance with space regulations and maintain or exceed industry standards of safety and health.
•	Maintain a professional working relationship with the venue and their staff on behalf of The Theater Offensive. This includes monitoring and supervising the relationship of the crews, overhires, interns, designers and volunteers to the venue.
•	Serve as conduit between venue staff, PM and TTO Producer on all production needs, in conjunction with Production Manager (PM) who acts as big-picture overseer.
•	Consult with PM on creating and revising a tech schedule, crew management strategy and crew scheduling.
•	Work with PM on scheduling strike, load in, turn-overs, tech and hiring needs.
•	Facilitate relationships between TTO, artists and tech crew. Resolve disputes when necessary.
•	Assist PM in writing a final evaluation report for Producing Director.
•	Respond to phone/email from show affiliates and colleagues in a prompt and efficient manner, via e-mail or phone, within 24 hours unless otherwise negotiated with PM.
•	Provide mentorship to interns and volunteers as needed.
