Crystal,

If anyone is interested in audio or acoustics workshops, from a
consultants / operators perspective keep me in mind, I would be happy to
help put something together.

We also have a new person on staff, Alex Bagnall, who has lots of
practical knowledge and design experience specific to theatre. It also
doesn't hurt that he's a Yale grad.

Subject: [Usittne] minutes from August

Hi all,

Sorry these minutes come so late. (See minutes & photo below) I was
actually trying to organize a projection workshop with Jack Nardi and
UConn in conjunction with their first production but, like the rest of
us, they are swamped.

I just want to say that events cannot be placed on my shoulders alone.
People want things like projection workshops, rigging workshops, etc.,
but do not offer to organize them. So I think I will make an offer to
all of you out there. If you want to organize an event, workshop, or
other idea, I can arrange to help you fund it. I will probably offer
you a prearranged amount of funding for each USITT NE member who shows
up or for each new member you recruit. The rest will be up to you.
Send me your proposals that include a time, place, overall cost and
numbers of people who can participate.

I will continue to personally do three things each year.

1. the annual BBQ

2. chair the meeting at the national conference

3. offer my services and continue the USITT NE events at KCACTF Region
I

The rest is up to you.

Many thanks and I hope you are all doing well.

Crystal

August BBQ

August 23, 2008

Attendees:

Crystal Tiala, Mike Katz, Sara Brown, Keith Cornelius, Arthur Dirks,
John Devlin,

John Forbes, Ron Dallas, Janice Dallas, Clyde Tyndale, Barbara Craig,
Larry Vigus

We had a great time and instead of a formal meeting, I let everyone talk
about any item they wanted to discuss. Here are the highlights.

- I would like to get a head count of who would like to
participate in Bill Beautyman's Dimmer Basics workshop proposal.
Please drop me an email if you think you would go out to Lee, MA
sometime for this.

- Mike Katz is going to contact the BETA list to offer support in
their project.

- Looking into the projection workshop.

- Audio systems might be another interesting avenue to pursue.

- Keith Cornelius will, eventually, schedule the Boston TADA
meeting. [refer to March minutes for details.]

Thanks to all who came. It was great fun.

Crystal
