[Usittne] Flying rigging workshop

As I read it, we are talking about a one hour workshop. 80 bucks is a
lot to pay for a one hour workshop. St Michaels is a long way to drive
(for some of us) for a one hour workshop. What specific day are we
talking about?

Crystal,

I think you are saying that USITT will commit $30 from our bank account
for each person that signs up through us, in addition to the $50 from
the person signing up.
If all 12 people sign up we will have to spend $360 of our money. Is
that right?

It sounds reasonable to me.

I won't be able to attend since I will most likely be in California that
week.

[Usittne] Flying rigging workshop

Dear USITT NE members and interested people,

St. Michael's college in Vermont is looking to rig some flying people
for their upcoming production of Peter Pan.
They are asking USITT to help fund it. In return, they would create a
flying workshop "see details below". As discussed at the meeting at
KCACTF, we thought that anyone from outside of St. Michael's college
could attend the workshop if they paid a fee to USITT New England of 50
dollars. In return, USITT would donate that money plus an extra 30
dollars for each person that signs up through us. These people would
also become members of USITT NE if they are not already members. So
St. Michaels would get 80 dollars for each attendee from us - BUT - they
need to know right away.
Who would committ to this offer? USITT NE does not have the funds to
outright give them money, so this seems like a good solution.

If you will committ to paying the 50 dollars and attending, please email
me at tiala at mindspring.com by Friday of this week. We will take the
first 12 people who apply.

Thanks,
Crystal

So we decided to use ZFX for Peter Pan and we brought our budget in
front of the drama club eboard tonight. We were asking for $5,750 but we
dont have that in our budget so we were granted $3,500 and its up to us
to fund raise the rest. We will be asking for $1,500 from our student
association but we are hoping you still might be able to give us the
$1,000. You asked us for a quick blurb so this is what we came with:

Saint Michael's College will be offering a flying workshop with ZFX in
conjunction with our production of Peter Pan. The workshop would take
place between April 22nd and April 25th and will most likely be an
educational session on the logistics of flying and the how the process
of flying an individual works. It will probably run around an hour. This
workshop would be open to any USITT New England member (any non-members
wishing to attend may do so after paying the small fee for joining USITT
New England.).

Please let me know asap how all this sounds to you as we need to
continue to tell our drama club e-board whether we can fundraise this
money sucessfully within the next couple weeks.

Cheers,
~Tina
