Visit from the USITT President to New England
Don’t miss Sylvia Hillyard Pannell, our USITT President, at the Region I Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival [KCACTF] in Fitchburg/Leominster.  There will be a free reception for all USITT members and those interested in joining on Friday, February 1st, from 5 to 7 at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Lemonister, MA. Free food is provided, compliments of Ed Hyatt and the Boston Illumination Group, and lots of great networking opportunities.  Come to see old friends or to bring fresh ideas that will be heard by the President of USITT and other regional officers.  You do not need to register for the festival to attend this meeting. Stay tuned to the NE Section’s listserve for more details. 
 
Reasons to attend KCACTF
Faculty, have your students bring their portfolios.  We will have dedicated reviewers in all there to respond and help students create a professional portfolio.  It is fabulous preparation for URTA’s, graduate applications, job interviews and the REPA Job Expo ’08 (see below). 
If you do wish to register for KCACTF and partake of the many other opportunities available at the festival, log on to www.kcactf1.org, where you will find information and registration forms.   Registration forms can be found on line a under festival information or you can register on site.  This festival is an educational event for students and theater faculty, professionals or just those wanting to learn more. Among the many opportunities found at KCACTF, you can try out technologies hands-on, attend educational sessions or see one of the five regional productions.   It is well worth the time there and at 60 dollars (30 dollars for one day only, and 65 dollars on-site full conference), it is the best bargain around.  
 
First, The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival [KCACTF], Region I, in Fitchburg/Leominster, MA on January 30th  to February 2nd  is not only for students to compete, but there are many workshops and shows for students and faculty.  Registration forms can be found on line at www.kcactf1.org under festival information.  The full conference program can be found on line, but here are 35 top reasons why you and your students should attend.  
Wednesday through Saturday
1.     Free reception Friday night with Susan Hillyard Pannel, Michele Smith and other national representatives here to talk to you and get your feedback.  
2.     Portfolio and resume reviews and feedback – Friday and Saturday – noon to 5 pm – to prepare students for professional interviewing.

REPA Job Expo ‘08
The Regional Entertainment, Production and Administration Job Expo [REPA 08] will be held at 88 Tremont Street in Boston on Saturday, March 1st, from 11 AM to 3 PM.   Make sure your students are prepared with portfolios and resumes.  Each year 30 to 40 employers from across the region gather to interview applicants for full and part-time positions, internships and other opportunities.  Kick off your design, tech or administrative career or network to enhance your already thriving career by joining us.  There is no fee for applicants.
