[Usittne] Alan Symonds

Dear members,

As are many - I am still in shock over the loss of Alan Symonds.  I did
not know Alan as well as some folks - but still feel a huge loss from
his early departure. He was an incredible person.  He lived an
exceptional life.  He was always fair and honest.  

He had an endless supply of great stories - and that, I think, is what I
will miss most.   Those of you who know me - probably know that I like
to chat.  When having any discussion with Alan over the phone or at
lunch - I only wanted to listen to him tell his stories.  He was such a
treat to listen to!  I can still hear him chuckle.  He seemed to always
end a statement with a good chuckle.  And getting me (even after a few
cups of coffee) to be sit quietly and listen intently for any amount of
time - well that is a feat!

There has been a website set up by a former Harvard Alumnus, David
Feldman, to post any stories or thoughts you would like in remembrance
of Alan.  I have been asked to pass this information along to friends
and colleagues -

Harvard University passed away today of a heart attack. There is no
other information available at this time, but I will pass on any details
