Position: 00003211 - Property Technician
Job Description
The Property Technician will be responsible for construction, rental or purchase of Property elements that are required for all Productions. This will include, but not be limited to, furniture, hand props, weapons, etc... The individual will also be responsible for the organization and maintenance of Props Storage. In addition the individual will supervise and train student workers and Lab students in the execution prop elements. This individual will need to instruct the students in the safe operation of shop machinery, and property construction techniques as well, as assisting in the maintenance of the Shop equipment.
Requirements
BA or BFA in theater preferred. Experience in stage carpentry, upholstering, painting, sculpting, sewing as well as standard shopping and renting procedures. Additional hours may be required on as need bases, particularly around Technical Weeks, and Opening of shows and will be compensated.
This is a 16 hour per week, non-benefit position.
