TO ALL LIST RECEIVERS:
I APOLOGIZE THAT THIS IS GOING TO EVERYONE. UNFORTUNATELY COPYING ANDREW'S NAME DID NOT GIVE ME A WORKABLE ADDRESS.

  Hi-
We are doing a production of Shepard's C.S.C. at UMASS Amherst next month....
We are looking for the following:

  1. Any advice on how to deal with the logistics of having a live lamb on stage. What were the issues you had to deal with and how did you troubleshoot them?
Any sources you have for borrowing a lamb that we could add to our list of leads would be great too.

  SOME SUGGESTIONS:
a.. CONTACT LOCAL AND REGIONAL 4-H CLUBS (I SUSPECT YOU WILL FIND A YOUNG PERSON WHO WILL SUPPLY THE ANIMAL AND ALSO TAKE CARE OF IT, BE ITS HANDLER WHILE THE SHOW IS HAPPENING.)
b.. CONTACT LOCAL AND REGIONAL WOOL SUPPLIERS
c.. CONTACT LOCAL AND REGIONAL WEAVERS (WHO WILL KNOW WHERE TO FIND THE WOOL SUPPLIERS
d.. GET AHOLD OF THE MOST RECENT AGRICULTURAL FAIR PROGRAMS, CONTACT PEOPLE SHOWING LAMBS
e.. THERE IS PROBABLY A NEW ENGLAND SHEEP HERDER'S ORGANIZATION
f.. CHECK OUT THE MAKERS OF CHEESE THAT UTILIZES SHEEP'S MILK
THERE ARE A LOT OF SHEEP PEOPLE IN VERMONT IF THERE ARE NOT IN VERMONT. IF YOU DON'T FIND WHAT YOU NEED IN MASS, DO TRY VERMONT.

  2. For the urination scene we've decided to go with a bladder sewn into the costume- has anyone else gone this route?

SOUNDS TO ME LIKE A GOOD APPROACH.

  3. Lamb carcass. If you still have yours in props storage we'd love to borrow it.

I SUSPECT THAT ONE OF THE SOURCES ABOVE COULD ALSO LEAD YOU TO A CARCASS.
  Thanks in adavance!

  YOU'RE WELCOME!

PLEASE, AFTER YOU SOLVE THIS PROBLEM, PUBLISH THE METHODS YOU USED TO THIS LIST, SO OTHERS WILL HAVE THE BENEFIT OF YOUR EXPERIENCE.

  CHEERS,
  BOB WOLFF 802 728 7071

  Best,
  Andrew Stuart
