Hi all USITT members,

It is time to step up to the plate and help out.

I need people to man a couple of tables at the Regional Entertainment and Production Job Expo.

From 11 to 3 PM I need people to get applicants signed up as they enter and collect their resumes.

Also, we could use someone to sit at the USITT New England table and hand out information.

Let me know if you can come for all or part of the time.

We will be at the MIT Student Stratton Center on Mass Ave just north of Memorial Drive.

Many thanks for your volunteerism.

Mikie: I regret that MIT does not consider the Lighting Designer a critical partner and co-collaborator in the process of creating the visual look, feel and world of a play. It is the 21st century after all and many scenic solutions are designed to be a backdrop to dynamic lighting and projection treatments. The tables are turning and soon the set designer will be considered an appendage of the lumen people; not the other way ?round! Hope someone there asks good questions. . . Unfortunately while this seminar is sponsored by my department neither Karen Perlow our LD nor I had any input on it. Such is the life of an academic. That being said I am very happy that there is any Effort put into a Theater design seminar at all. Too few departments put any funds into the design areas, the money, disproportionately, usually goes into acting and directing symposiums and residencies.
