From srhall at MIT.EDU Wed Nov 9 16:12:17 2005 From: srhall at MIT.EDU (Steven R. Hall) Date: Wed, 9 Nov 2005 16:12:17 -0500 Subject: [Unified-mailman] Mid-Term Grade Report Guidance Message-ID: Folks, Many of you have asked for a little guidance on your standing in the class, given the information in the midterm reports. The Unified staff has designated the following ranges of concern: 1. The first range, between 12 and 20 points below Joe B, is a range where we have some concern about performance. In this range (depending on where you are in the range), a dip in performance or failure to bring grades up somewhat could result in a grade below CC or CD. 2. If you are more than 20 points below Joe B, failure to bring up performance may result in a grade of DD or worse. This is certainly a range where we have great concern, and hope that you will do all that you can to improve your performance. There are many resources (homework assignments, web pages and textbooks) and people (faculty, teaching fellows and undergraduate TA's) available to help you improve your performance. We would like to help. If you are concerned about your performance, please contact me as soon as possible so that I can work with you to develop a plan for improving.
