Folks,

We are looking for a few current Unified students who would like to be
undergraduate TAs in Unified next year. If you are interested, please
reply to this e-mail to indicate your interest. It is also helpful if
you also indicate the specific disciplines (Signals and Systems,
Structures and Materials, Fluids, Computers and Programming, and/or
Thermo and Propulsion) that are of most interest to you, in terms of
grading and office hour help, since we need some balance in skills.

As you probably know, the main functions of the undergraduate TAs are
to grade problem sets and systems problem, pre-take exams, assist in
labs, prepare for and attend at least one office hour session per week,
occasionally tutor students in need, and sometimes help with the PRS
system in lecture. Not every TA will participate in all these
activities, but you should be willing to be flexible. Of course, we
try to match TA skills with assigned tasks, so everyone we invite to be
a TA should be able to contribute. All TAs need to be involved in
grading problem sets, due to the sheer volume of the task. We also ask
that TAs have enough time in their schedules that they can regularly
contribute to grading, etc. An important priority for us is the timely
turn-around of graded problem sets and systems problems, so we want TAs
who are not over-committed, at least by MIT standards.

If you are interested, please reply no later than May 1.

Thanks,

Steven Hall
