Hello Undergrads,

UAPA is partnering with the PKG center to bring back a wonderful MIT event, the COMIT (Civic Organizers at MIT) dinners, which are designed to bring leaders involved in service into contact with MIT undergraduate students and create discussion around some of today's most challenging issues.

The goal of these dinners is to provide more opportunities for students to engage with civic dialogue, provide resources on civic issues, and empower students to use their personal experiences and knowledge to form an opinion. Previous topics have touched upon Civic Engagement, Immigration, and Identity Politics.

We will be holding our first event of the year this Monday (2/28) at 6:15pm in W20-400 to celebrate Black History Month. We will have MIT's Institute Community Equity Officer John Dozier as a guest speaker followed by a round table discussion. We will also have a Black History Kahoot with prizes and free dinner from a Black-owned restaurant!

We hope you will join us in creating a civic engagement-based campus dialogue. We stress that you do not at all need any previous knowledge on any topics, but just an interest in learning, reflecting, and empowering yourselves. Look out for more information on future COMIT dinners as well. Hope to see you all there!
