The Byte is a biweekly UA newsletter to inform undergraduates about what's happening in the MIT community. If you want to submit an event, initiative, or project to the Byte, go to tinyurl.com/byte21<https://tinyurl.com/byte21> or click the "submit an announcement to the UA" button above!

The Byte is run by the UA which works to improve your undergraduate experience through policy, projects, and events. We're always happy to listen to your suggestions, concerns, and comments. Learn more at ua.mit.edu<http://ua.mit.edu/>.

Last Byte we asked about your favorite stud vendor - Dunkin was in the lead with 26.7% of students voting for it followed by La Verde's at 23.3%. Bibimbox and Carolicious were both tied at 20% and Las Palmas is at 10%.

Power & Privilege: ICEO Community Dialogues Series

What is power? How do we talk about it, and where does it come from? Does privilege play a part in how much power we have or lack in society? Where does power play out most in our work at MIT, both on campus and off? Join Danny from the PKG Center and Jacklyn from SOLE in a conversation about how power impacts our relationships, workplaces, and society. This event will feature ASL interpretation, and will be hosted both in person and via zoom. Select an option when you register. In-person space is limited. Attendees who will be joining us for an in person experience must be vaccinated against Covid-19.

UA Student-Faculty Meal Reimbursements

This semester, the UA Education Committee is looking to offer a student-faculty coffee/meal program: student-faculty meal reimbursements. If you and your friends would like to take a faculty member out for a coffee/meal (in a COVID safe, socially distanced manner), we will reimburse up to $20 per person (including the faculty member)!

Since we have a limited budget, the reimbursements will be on a first come, first serve basis. For the time being, we will allow only one reimbursement per student for this semester. Please fill out this form<https://forms.gle/G3ViAoqpmg986vuz6> as soon as you get word from the faculty member that they are willing to have a meal (only one form is needed per group). We will reach out soon after with confirmation on whether we have the available budget and additional logistics.

We will also be hosting student-faculty dinners with specific faculty members, so keep an eye out for those events later in the semester! Please let us know if you have any questions, feedback, or concerns.
