The newly launched MIT Climate & Sustainability Consortium <https://mit.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=bdfc59eb9992df0679e9b2797&id=2a8af0a8a3&e=7b0faf419e> (MCSC) brings together an influential group of industry leaders (e.g. Apple, Boeing, Pepsi) to closely collaborate with MIT on addressing their greenhouse gas emissions, resource use, and sustainability more broadly. In order for the MCSC’s work to be successful and implementable, ongoing student input will be absolutely critical. That is why the MCSC is establishing Student Council, a group of students to partner with MCSC leadership – representing the MIT student voice, sharing opportunities for engagement with the MCSC with other students, and providing feedback to the MCSC as it grows and evolves Student Council members will also have the opportunity to partner with our Faculty Steering Committee and dive into specific topics that they are most interested in. Some aspects of student engagement will be compensated, similar to UROP positions. So, if you are a student and shaping MIT’s role in accelerating this essential global transition interests you from your particular perspective and interest, apply! The application is here <https://mit.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=bdfc59eb9992df0679e9b2797&id=fd092453a7&e=7b0faf419e>. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 28, 2021.

The Caribbean nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been left reeling from a series of volcanic eruptions that have severely disrupted the residents' lives, forcing some to leave their homes while also destroying their property.
The Caribbean Club is appealing to the MIT community for donations to aid with disaster relief. All donations will go to an organisation called Hairouna Hope, a non-profit organization based in St. Vincent and the Grenadines which provides assistance through medical missions and humanitarian service. It has been operational for the past few years but officially registered as a non-profit with Commerce and Intellectual Property Office since early 2021.
To make donations, please Venmo @Boston-for-SVG. Within the Venmo request, please indicate whether you would like your donation to be used as needed by the shelters or specify from the options: medical mission, medication, food, toiletries and/or clothes. If you have any questions, please contact Abigail Scott (abscott at mit.edu <mailto:abscott at mit.edu>).

[UA Innovation] Missing Banana Lounge? Us too!
Survey: tinyurl.com/missing-bananas2021 <http://www.tinyurl.com/missing-bananas2021>
Get involved: tinyurl.com/banana-domination <http://www.tinyurl.com/banana-domination>
UA Innovation Committee (incomm) created Banana Lounge (26-110) for students, "a little happy place in the heart of campus." It was a space for many in the MIT community to meet, eat, work, nap, create, and play.
We know that you may miss Banana Lounge, and we're working hard on getting Banana Lounge restarted in the fall! In the meantime, we are exploring if we could safely bring back a taste of the old banana lounge (banana-flavored?) with COVID-safe space(s).
How can we do this? What would you like to see? Let us know with this survey <http://www.tinyurl.com/missing-bananas2021>!
Want to help us restart the OG Banana Lounge again come fall? Drop your name and kerb here <http://www.tinyurl.com/banana-domination>.
Questions? Comments? Concerns of banana domination? Contact us at bananalounge at mit.edu <mailto:bananalounge at mit.edu>
