Hello Undergrads!

As Danielle and I said earlier this month, we are committed to standing with and supporting our Asian American and/or Pacific Islander community. Over the past couple weeks, we have been working to define tangible ways we as the UA will do our part in building a society that eradicates anti-Asian racism and violence. A number of efforts are being shaped now, but one thing we particularly want to underscore is the power of all of us united as a community, challenging our peers, our Institution, our country to do better. Led by a group of graduate and undergraduate students, 3,795 candles will light up Kresge Oval this Saturday night (4/3) to recognize the 3,795 (and counting) reported anti-AAPI hate incidents<https://secureservercdn.net/104.238.69.231/a1w.90d.myftpupload.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/210312-Stop-AAPI-Hate-National-Report-.pdf> in the last year alone from 7-9PM ET!

With 3,795 candles to set up, we are particularly in need of Undergraduate volunteers on COVID Pass so if you are free and nearby Kresge, please consider signing up<https://forms.gle/h6FeEmfYMyziFqLQA> to help with set-up and take-down on Saturday night!

Members of the MIT community (students, faculty, affiliates) with COVIDPass eligibility are invited to come between 7-9 PM to reflect and show their solidarity. Stay Engaged
Along with this candlelight installation, there are a number of community efforts happening right now and that have been happening to uplift the AAPI community around MIT.
