From fighting for apartheid divestment in the ‘90s to influencing the removal of Columbus Day this year, the Undergraduate Association has leveraged student power to advocate for important change throughout history.

As we approach another semester in this pandemic, your voice is needed now more than ever to push the bounds of our advocacy and tackle the biggest issues on campus. This past semester, we have encouraged civic engagement through MIT’s first virtual Get Out The Vote Fest<http://ua.mit.edu/get-out-the-vote-festival>, integrated student values into the Climate Action Plan<http://ua.mit.edu/sustainability>, advocated for and secured free testing by MIT Medical for students off-campus, and most recently, put on our very first MIT COVID Hack<http://ua.mit.edu/covid-hack> with over 500 participants and are currently working with administration to implement several of the ideas.

With 8 of our 11 committees<http://ua.mit.edu/committees> recruiting new members this Spring, we hope that you can find a place to work on projects that you are passionate about.

We will also be hosting Recruitment Week, involving several events<http://ua.mit.edu/join-the-ua> to help you learn more about the UA and our active committees.
