Dear Undergrads,
In the spirit of transparency and participatory decision-making, we want to
frequently share with you information about the process for responding to
Covid-19 as we learn more information ourselves. Only after weeks of your
feedback to the Institute to make this decision-making process genuinely
transparent are we now able to share much of this information with you.
Although providing feedback may seem futile, this instance is one of many
that demonstrates that the collective student voice makes a difference.
We have created a repository of materials via Dropbox here
<https://www.dropbox.com/sh/58rpix59mv8asut/AAAflF2DvX454rsCgMwRRProa?dl=0>,
which will be updated multiple times a week going forward. The repository
includes near daily updates, presentations on specific questions, and forms
to submit feedback. You can access information on specific decisions here
<https://covid19.mit.edu/undergraduate-students>.
Please note: All the information shared in the repository reflects a work
in progress. Our intent is to share real-time context and details necessary
for you to provide MIT leadership feedback on the problems, questions,
constraints, and opportunities in opening campus in the fall. This feedback
will in turn shape the possible sets of choices that could be made, and
ultimately the final decision.
Here are various avenues through which you can provide feedback:
-
On all Institute-wide issues: This Tuesday’s community-wide town hall
<http://web.mit.edu/webcast/townhall/1/> from 4-5:15PM Eastern, hosted
by President Reif
-
This “We Solve for Fall 2020” form
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSemN5HAnMkxk1mk1cEjdWYev-ojzkzf6z5l5giTbpe3uTYtgw/viewform>
.
-
On undergraduate residential life: A mini-town on Wednesday, May 13th
from 5-6:00PM Eastern, hosted by DSL and other student organizations.
-
On summer options: This “Remote Summer Options for MIT Students” form
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfLzDk6jOv2yK2wVks88AugEXM1KBGKEblzBqMCTmL3D0VoOA/viewform>,
hosted by the subteam on Summer Opportunities and Resources Team (SORT).
As we learn of more opportunities to help, we will let you know. We also
want to remind you that applications to be on the UA’s Judicial Review Board
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfvvHSeezEm9Jb9HTOIRyhVWqf8NdfOWfQDQul_rsjJEnl28g/viewform>
are open until May 8th. ...There’s no “i” in pandemic...
Warm Regards,
Mahi Elango
UA President
