Dear Undergrads,
We are extending the deadline of MIT's Institute Committee
<http://ua.mit.edu/institutecomms/> applications to *next Monday, April
27th 11:59 PM Eastern*. You can apply here
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfJwhSTgDZ8LEt0DqrZg84Z0FTKcOFNrjRuHdkWRJeKYWOpdg/viewform>.
Undergraduate
representatives on Institute Committees are full, voting members with equal
say in the variety of policy decisions made and discussed. We highly
encourage anyone who is interested to consider applying, regardless of your
interests, background, or prior experience. These committees need a wide
range of student talent to fill them, and we want the undergraduate
representation on them to represent the diversity of the student body.
There will also be a UA presidential debate
<https://www.facebook.com/events/2718043971657674/> this Saturday, April
25th at 2pm ET. We encourage you to submit questions in advance
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScIUeKfsU4uHHWi0lT_xcgYERWdebH4wPRd-QMjqHAOgFec-g/viewform>
for the moderators. Join the Zoom here <https://mit.zoom.us/j/98017493025>!
Regarding COVID-19 and how it changes the future: We understand how
frustrating it might be to not have answers or even know when those answers
will be shared. We too are frustrated. We will continue to emphasize to
those making the ultimate decisions that the more transparency and the more
direct student involvement there is in the process, the better prepared and
equipped students will be. As always, please share your concerns directly
with us and those in charge.
Warm regards,
Mahi Elango
UA President
