Hi Undergrads,

tl;dr: Take this survey
<https://mit.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_50i8OuigbQiZAbz> to let us know
how you feel about the new changes to Commencement!

As you may have read recently in The Tech, there will be significant changes
to 2020 Commencement
<https://thetech.com/2019/09/12/commencement-2020-failures>. In short,
undergraduates will not be walking together to receive their degree on
Killian Court, and will instead be split by School or Department. You can
read more about the changes, the timeline, the problem space, and potential
solutions on the UA's website <http://ua.mit.edu/2020-commencement-changes>
.

Since students were not solicited for feedback or included in the decision,
in collaboration with all Class Councils and dorm presidents we are
conducting a survey
<https://mit.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_50i8OuigbQiZAbz> to capture
reactions and values. We recognize how upsetting this news may be, but we
are hopeful that in collecting feedback from as many students as possible
across campus we can reach a solution that far better reflects how we want
to graduate.

The results are anonymous - we simply do not record it. For the purposes of
analysis, a select few student leaders and senior administrators will have
access to the survey data. The results will not be used in tandem with
surveys you may have previously taken. We will publish a report with
conclusions of the survey data along with updates on Commencement, in a few
weeks.

If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback please email us at
ua-officers at mit.edu. Thank you for participating!

Thanks,
Mahi
