MIT, I Messed Up (MIMU) is an event hosted by UA Community & Diversity and
all four class councils, meant to bring students across campus together to
celebrate our failures, mistakes, and misfortunes. The goal of MIMU is to
show students that failure is common among us, in a genuine, relaxed and
encouraging way. This year, MIMU will be held on April 30th, 6:00 - 8:00 PM
on Kresge Lawn. The evening will be primarily comprised of stories shared
by students, with food and performances from different campus groups
interspersed throughout the event.

*UA Council Meeting*
The last council meeting minutes can be found here

April 24th from 7:30 - 9:00pm in the Senate Chambers (W20-400). Council

*UA Cabinet & Operations Meeting*
The next Cabinet meeting will be April 18th in the Senate Chambers
(W20-400) at 7pm. Cabinet meetings are open to all undergraduates.

*Digital Diplomas*
The Registrar’s Office recently launched Digital Diplomas @ MIT, which
gives students the option of receiving a digital version of their
credential in addition to the traditional paper diploma. All graduating
students are eligible to receive a digital version of their diploma at no
cost. Look out for an email from the Registrar’s Office inviting you to
download the Blockcerts Wallet app on your mobile device and add MIT as an
issuer. You must complete these steps before Commencement to ensure that
you receive your digital diploma as soon as it is available. Learn more here

*LBGTQ Spirituality & Faith Series: In Conversation with Mesma

multiple aspects of identity in a variety of religious and spiritual
traditions. Hear from faith leaders about their journey through the
intersections of sexual orientation, gender identity, and their religious,
spiritual, or ethical tradition. All are welcome.

Described by The New York times as “a tour de force”, Mesma Belsaré is a
professional dancer, painter and actor. Her studies also include the visual
arts, Indian & European art history and Aesthetics. Belsaré is a member of
MASALA (Boston’s South Asian LGBTQ+ group), and actively advocates for the
visibility and acceptance of gender-nonconforming individuals, particularly
those from South Asia. Belsaré will discuss the ancient Vedic view of
LBGTQ+ people, who were considered an integral part of ancient Indian

An extended dialogue among local and visiting panelists with diverse
individual perspectives on and approaches to Islam. Eman Akam, a
Sudanese-origin HMS/MGH post-doc, will speak about implicit bias and
women's status in Islam. Said Benjebli, an influential Moroccan-born
activist with an Islamic studies degree, will speak about the dynamics of
Islamic extremism. Ibrahim Abdallah, co-founder and National City Organizer
of Muslimish, will speak about practical activism to unite secular Muslims
and former Muslims over common goals.
