*BetterMIT ChallengeWhen:* Mon. 2/18 - Sun. 2/24

A community focused pitch challenge with three categories: living spaces,
academic growth, and social/mental health. Over $3000 in prizes, including
$1000 and resources towards qualifying projects. Food will be provided at
the challenge, and our kickoff events Monday the 18th and Friday the 22nd.
All semi-finalists are invited to present their ideas at the College of
Computing Expo - Tuesday February 26th. Final round judges include
Chancellor Barnhart, Vice Chancellor Waitz, and Dean Nelson. Register and

*UA Council Meeting*

Come by to learn about the many entrepreneurship and innovation resources
available on campus this spring and summer: classes, sources of funding,
mentoring programs, makerspaces, prize competitions, and more. As an added

and innovation resources will be in one location: MIT Innovation
Initiative, Martin Trust Center, Arts at MIT, Legatum Center, TLO, $100K,

How will we use technology to find and communicate truth in the 21st
century?

Theme areas:
Track 1: Using technology to understand the impact of climate change to
enable and support aid and humanitarian efforts
Track 2: Truth in a digital world (i.e. combatting fake news, social media
bots, and deep fakes)
Track 3: Ensuring supply chain integrity

The winning team in each track will receive Platinum passes to SXSW (South
by Southwest) in Austin, TX with roundtrip airfare and lodging.

The keynote address will be given by Rahsaan Hall, Director of the Racial
Justice Program for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of
Massachusetts.
