[UA] Meet the new Officers: Chipotle + Insomnia Study Break

Dear Undergraduates,

I hope everyone is enjoying the last few days of classes! This Thursday (5/17) at 5:30pm we will be having a study break in the UA Office (W20-401) with all of the new UA Officers. Come by to meet the new Officers, enjoy some free Chipotle & Insomnia, and celebrate the last day of classes! We would love to get to know you and hear about what you would like us to work on next year.

Below are the names and short bios of all the appointed Officers for the 2018-2019 school year. We are all very excited about this opportunity to work with the student body and administrators to improve student life at MIT!

President: Alexa Martin (akmartin)
Alexa is a rising senior majoring in Course 18. She lives in an apartment off campus in Boston and is originally from Suffern, New York. In her free time she enjoys eating at Flour, biking along the Charles, or spending time with friends. Her favorite animal is snakes and one day she dreams of having one of her own.

Vice President: Kathryn Jiang (kjiang88)
Kat is a Course 18 rising junior who lives in EC. She is super excited to implement the recommendations from the Designing the First Year class. She will be spending her summer working for a non-profit consultancy in Chicago and is passionate about education. In her free time she enjoys eating, sleeping, climbing, and petting cats.

Chief of Staff: Mary Jane Porzenheim (mjporz)
MJ is a rising senior studying biology and political philosophy. A Randomite her entire MIT career, MJ is also proud to hail from Evanston, IL. Growing up, MJ always looked forward to the long, rambling, pseudo-philosophic discussions she would have in college, and she spends much of her free time fulfilling that vision. While her attention span is normally concerningly limited, MJ can spend hours staring at a tide pool.

Treasurer: Ricky Villarreal (ricardov)
Ricky is a rising junior majoring in Course 15-2 and minoring in Course 6. He lives at the Sigma Nu house in Boston and is originally from Laredo, Texas. In his free time Ricky enjoys following or playing sports, watching movies or tv shows, and hanging out with friends.
Fun Fact: He’s watched The Office 4 times and is halfway through his 5th.

Secretary: Mahi Elango (melango)
Mahi is a rising junior in Courses 6 and 9. She's from Seattle, Washington and currently lives in Maseeh. In her free time she enjoys going on runs, trying new restaurants & cuisines, and napping. Her favorite animal is most definitely not snakes.

Assistant Officer on Diversity: Mo Eltahir (meltahir)
Mo is a rising senior in Mechanical Engineering with a Concentration in Data and Design. He lives in Chocolate City in New House and is also a brother of Phi Beta Epsilon. Mo grew up right on campus in the 100 Memorial Drive Apartment Complex. In his free time, he likes to listen to music, explore Boston and watch TV.
