Hi Undergrads,
I was super excited to see all of the pre-frosh on campus for CPW! I hope
you are spending some time to rest and recover during the long weekend.
Tomorrow is the second MIT Day of Action, where members of the MIT and
broader local community will devote the day to engaging with the political,
economic, environmental, and social challenges facing us today — through
learning, discussion, reflection, and planning for action. We will hold
various activities in the Stata Center, including lectures, town-hall
sessions, film screenings, and workshops. Together, we act to fulfil MIT’s
mission “to bring knowledge to bear on the world’s great challenges”,
seeking open-minded dialogue with peers and colleagues of diverse
backgrounds and views. We invite you to join us and share your concerns,
questions, hopes, ideas, knowledge and skills.
There will be a Faculty Meeting on Wednesday at 3:30pm in 10-250. Agenda
items include a proposal for a new 11-6 degree in Urban Studies and
Planning with Computer Science, along with a discussion about the MIT and
Slavery class findings. Undergraduates are welcome to attend as listeners.
Finally, UA Officer Applications

are due 5pm on Wednesday. Institute Committee Applications will open this
week, and UA Committee Chair Applications the week after.
