Phone Bank, Shuttle Feedback, 24-hour Challenge
*The Byte*
*Vol. 3 Issue 20 March 19, 2018*

Hey undergrads,

Thanks to everyone who donated for the MIT 24 hour challenge! We reached
our goal of 200 people giving to the DSL challenge and have received 1,000
meal swipes from an anonymous donor. In addition, thank you to everyone who
came to our phone bank last week and called their representative in
Congress.

We are excited to announce that on April 4th, Bob Millard, the Chairman of
the MIT Corporation, and Vrajesh Modi, former UA President and member of
the MIT Corporation, are coming to speak at UA Council. The Corporation is
MIT's board of trustees and sets the strategic vision for the Institute. If
you have any questions you would like to ask them, please fill out this form

As always, Council meetings are 7:30 - 9pm in W20-400 and are open to all
undergrads. We hope to see you there!

Have a wonderful spring break!

Love,
Kat

*Tea with Teachers: Eric Lander*

Heard rumours about a computation GIR? Have feedback on whether or not it's
warranted? Want to provide input on possible implementation? *The student
representatives on the Committee on the Undergraduate Program (CUP) want to
hear your feedback on the potential computational thinking requirement!*

The CUP is charged with oversight over the undergrad academic program,
including GIRs. The computational thinking GIR is being considered in light
of the final report

*Spring Break Airport Shuttles *

The Parking and Transportation office will provide shuttle service to Logan
Airport for the Spring Break. Shuttles will be available on Thursday, March
22 through Saturday, March 24 at scheduled departure times.

Advanced reservations are required. Please visit the Parking and
Transportation reservations page to reserve a seat at a cost of $15.00. All
reservations will be processed via the website and the shuttle fee will be
billed to the student account or via employee payroll deduction.

Reservation page:
http://web.mit.edu/facilities/transportation/shuttles/airport.html

Shuttles will depart from the Kresge parking lot at the scheduled times.
Please make sure you arrive on time as the shuttles need to maintain the
posted scheduled departures. While the average trip to Logan Airport is
about a half-hour, you should allow an hour as traffic, construction, and
airport security delays are expected.

Spencer -- two MIT philosophy faculty with a special interest in philosophy
of religion -- will lead inquiry into such questions, and secular scrutiny
of religious traditions of philosophy. No prior education in philosophy
required. Free refreshments served at start, audience Q&A after discussion.
