The TerraByte is a Facebook based news platform through which the UA Public
Affairs Committee summarizes important news stories of the week along with
updates on Cambridge City politics. The TerraByte promises to keep its
messages short, simple, relevant, and easy to understand! Our goal is to
have a politically well informed undergraduate population who can go into
the world and feel confident enough to engage in political conversations
and inspire change in their community!
*MIT Change Makers Awards*
Violence Prevention & Response (VPR) and the Title IX and Bias Response
Office (T9BR) are accepting nominations for the second annual MIT Change
Maker Awards. These awards honor individuals and student clubs/groups
actively seeking to make the MIT community a better place. MIT Change
Makers are individuals or groups who challenge harmful attitudes, language,
or behaviors, and make positive strides toward shifting the culture that
perpetuates sexual violence. More information can be found on the attached
poster. See here for information on last year’s award recipients.
Please take a moment to nominate an individual or club/group from the MIT
community who exemplifies the qualities of a Change Maker. The nomination
categories are:
- Undergraduate student
- Graduate student
- Employee (faculty or staff)
- Student Club or Group

The world is a neurologically diverse place, but the resources, workspaces
and technologies we use often don’t reflect that. Sometimes simple changes
can significantly expand accessibility to people who have neurological
differences like autism, dyslexia, ADHD, or epilepsy, but designers and
policymakers frequently aren’t aware of issues affecting this neurodiverse
community. Rosalind Picard, director of the Affective Computing Research
Group at the MIT Media Lab, joins neuroscientist Ned Sahin, Empowered Brain
Institute CEO Rafiq Abdus-Sabur and disability advocate Finn Gardiner to
explore what it means to be non-neurotypical, barriers to inclusion, and
how creators can make their work more accessible.

substantiated? The Secular Society of MIT brings Daniel Shkolnik -- secular
humanist service/activism leader, writer, and speaker -- to campus to talk
about and discuss what kind of morality science might imply we should (or
should not) live by, as Subject 3 in our Course 0 series. FREE entry and

Maria Stata Center on MIT's campus from March 16-17. Join 250 developers,
students, and industry experts worldwide in building the next generation of
