Hello all,
It is my pleasure to introduce to you the new 2017-2018 Undergraduate
Association Officer Team. Please join us this *Thursday at 5pm in the UA
Office (W20-401) for a study break* hosted by the incoming officer team.
There will be food from Pepper Sky with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free
options. This is a great opportunity to meet the new officers and talk
about any ideas for change.

The UA has many goals for the coming year, and I plan to focus on expanding
access to mental health and student support resources on campus, improving
academic advising and first year academics, and building better
relationships with the Cambridge and Boston community. I am passionate
about preserving student autonomy on campus and will work to ensure student
voices are adequately represented in decision-making at MIT.
Fun fact: I played bass in a high school rock band.
*Vice-President*
Alexa Martin

In the upcoming year I am looking to grow the UA internally through working
with the committee chairs and holding each committee accountable throughout
the year. Sarah and I are hoping to provide more resources in order to
foster good leaders within the UA and further increase the awareness on
campus of what committees are doing. I will also be working closely with
Sarah on improving the first year experience in terms of academics,
improving dining options on campus, growing the UA's relationship with
local, state, and national government, and increasing accessibility to
mental health & student support resources.
Fun fact: I really like snakes. When I was younger I used to chase and
catch snakes around my yard.
*Chief of Staff*

As Chief of Staff, I hope to nominate student representatives to Institute,
Ad Hoc and Advisory Committees who represent the MIT student body and their
interests as equitably as possible, and thereafter support them in any and
all ways that I can.
Fun Fact: I lived in the apartment complex next to Senior Haus from birth
until the third grade.
*Treasurer*
Jonathan Coden

My goals for this year are to help expand funding for student groups whose
needs fall out of traditional Finboard funding cycle through off-cycle
funding, create a system debt forgiveness for student group, continue
working with the administration on revisiting the Student Life Fee and
other funding sources for student groups across campus, and to help improve
financial aid and reduce food insecurity. I want to also work with the
other officers to improve dining options, especially within the Student
Center as well as use student feedback to improve the first year experience.
Fun Fact: I love going to concerts and I’m a certified scuba diver!
*Secretary*

As secretary, I hope to improve communication within the UA and develop new
communication channels among the UA, students, and admin. My priorities for
this year are centered around the freshmen experience, especially with
GIRs, freshmen learning communities, and advising.
Fun Fact: I started rock-climbing last year and can frequently be found on
the rock wall in Walker.
*Assistant Officer on Diversity*
Citlali Trigos-Raczkowski

For the next year, I plan to meet regularly with student groups on campus
to better advocate for their hopes and goals and foster community. I also
aim to work regularly with administration and be a voice for cultural and
minority groups in those discussions. My primary focus is to make
communities feel supported and welcome.
Fun fact: My favorite animal is a pig, my favorite color is pink, & I
practice yoga :-)
As always, please feel free to email ua-officers at mit.edu with any
questions. We look forward to meeting with you on Thursday.
Warmly,
Kathryn
