[UA Sustainability] Dorm Electricity Competition & Undergraduate Sustainability Survey

Hi all,


Last year, UA Sustain conducted a survey on sustainability in the MIT
community, with the goals to:

1) Understand MIT undergraduates’ behaviors with regard to sustainability

2) Identify areas where UA Sustainability can improve sustainability
campus-wide


A report detailing the findings of this survey has been attached to this

Dorm Electricity Competition


What is DEC?

An annual challenge for undergrads to be mindful about
energy/sustainability, and a chance for dorms, living groups, and
individuals to earn prizes and money towards sustainable living space
improvements!


When is DEC?

Now until Tuesday 3/21, with events throughout the month.


What are the prizes?

$1500 for the dorm that reduces their electricity consumption the most this
month

$1000 for the spirit team that earns the most spirit points, to go towards
a sustainable living space project.

$20-$50 in gift cards or items for individuals who win mini-competitions or
the raffle (enter by earning spirit points).


How do I win?

Reduce your electricity usage to help your dorm win! Sign up a spirit team
or join one on our website <https://dec.mit.edu/user> to join a spirit
team--open to all undergrads, not just those in dorms! Go to DEC events and
submit pictures of you doing sustainable things to earn spirit points!
