Dear Undergrads,

Hope your break has been restful!

Two positions have opened up for IAP and the Spring Semester as a chance to get involved with exciting committees on campus. The first is the Subcommittee on the Communications Requirement, a committee of faculty, staff, and students which sets policy for communication subjects across the Institute. The second is the MacVicar Advisory Committee. This group meets only once during IAP to review and select the 2017 MacVicar Faculty Fellow. Both applications can be found here<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSff9ENlia8h6gK2CD4WbcOTsb5UW6zzyCM6b63vo2EZcBIzmQ/viewform>, and close on the 11th at midnight. More information on the positions can be found below.

The Subcommittee on the Communications Requirement has two charges. The first is supporting, encouraging and monitoring the development of new, innovative subjects and changes to the Communication Requirement. The second is ensuring regular review of new and existing subjects to ascertain that the educational goals of the Communication Requirement are met while maintaining MIT's high educational standards. This committee meets 9:00-10:30am every third Tuesday, though this may change. The committee is ideally looking for a junior, though all classes are encouraged to apply.

The MacVicar Advisory Committee is tasked with selecting this year's MacVicar Fellows. The students will be expected to review a packet of nomination materials, rank the nominations, and then meet only once over IAP to collaborate with the rest of the committee members and come up with the group's recommendations. The MacVicar Advisory Committee will meet on January 26th from 3-5PM, and the meeting must be attended.

Thank you for applying, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out!

Best,

Kyle Archer
Undergraduate Association Chief of Staff
