Do you want to hear the real-life underdog story of a young boy from Chicago who went on to become the only African American governor of Massachusetts?
Do you want to meet someone who worked closely with Bill Clinton as the United States Attorney General for the Civil Rights division?
On Monday, November 21st Deval Patrick, former governor of Massachusetts, will be giving a talk on campus focused on his path to public service followed by a Q&A from the audience. The talk will be at 5:00-6:30pm in 10-250.

Read more about Deval Patrick below:
Deval Patrick came to Massachusetts in 1970 at the age of 14. A motivated student despite the difficult circumstances of poor Chicago schools, he was awarded a scholarship to Milton Academy through A Better Chance, a Boston-based organization. The first in his family to attend college, he is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School. After clerking for a federal judge, he led a successful career as an attorney and business executive, rising to partner at two Boston law firms and to senior executive positions at Texaco and Coca-Cola. In 1994, President Clinton appointed Patrick as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, the nation’s top civil rights post. After his post with President Clinton, Deval Patrick became the 71st governor of Massachusetts. He is also the author of two books: A Reason to Believe: Lessons from an Improbable Life and Faith in the Dream: A Call to the Nation to Reclaim American Values.
