Hi everyone!

Matthew Herper, Senior Editor at Forbes, will be talking on Wednesday, October 19th at 6.30pm in 3-270. He will be coming back to campus and give a talk focused on his career path and how MIT helped him, and this will be followed by Q&A from the audience. Pizza and drinks will be provided too.

Matthew Herper manages Forbes’ online and print coverage of healthcare topics. He joined Forbes.com in 2000 to cover the Human Genome Project and has written thousands of stories on topics from genetics to drug discovery to health economics and public health. In 2007, he documented delays in a study of the heart drug Vytorin that led to a dramatic decrease in prescriptions of that medicine. His 2011 cover profile of Bill Gates was a defense of one of humanity’s greatest achievements: the vaccine. His regular evaluations of the economics of drug discovery have been featured in investor presentations by Johnson & Johnson and Novartis. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.
