Hello Undergraduates,

Welcome to the last week of the spring semester before finals week!

Take a moment to think about all that you have accomplished, and appreciate
all those around you that have helped you get here! As finals approach,
take advantage of the many opportunities to grab a free meal with friends,
or to simply spend some time relaxing on your own.

More than anything else, you are a human being! So sleep, dream, eat, be
happy, shower, laugh, and live! Congratulations -- we are almost done!

----

*Interesting piece of history of the week *from our UA History Chair, Alexander
Sludds (ua-history at mit.edu; add yourself to the
ua-history-interest at mit.edu mailing
list here <https://groups.mit.edu/webmoira/list/ua-history-interest> if
you'd like to receive more):

*"Today we are going to examine the two events other than the river
crossing that really made the first move to MIT special. *
*At 2 PM on June 12th, 1916 the cornerstone of Walker Memorial was laid.
Francis Amasa Walker had given immense energy to the Institute during his
time here and had leveraged his military connections and charisma as a way
at bringing more funds into the Institute. *
*At 8:30 PM on June 13th, 1916 a pageant and masque was held that one of
the largest gatherings to ever occur in Cambridge history. The event was so
crowded that people were told not to walk through the main group. People
were actively encouraged to take the Boston to Cambridge subway. At the end
of a pageant a spotlight was shown from the Boston Rogers building that was
met by a spotlight from the Cambridge campus until the Boston light faded
out.*
*The original program can be found here!
*Also, I personally went out on the Charles and took pictures. They can be
found here <https://goo.gl/photos/X6nPT1sfCdeargos9>!"*
