[MIT] Large Celebrations Today!

Dear Undergraduates,

Today, MIT celebrates 100 years in Cambridge with a variety of large-scale
festivities.

First, this afternoon from 2-3:30PM is the Crossing of the Charles, with a
parade going across the Harvard Bridge led by none other than Oliver Smoot
himself! There will also be a plethora of MIT vessels crossing the river as
well.

Later, at 8:00PM in Killian Court will be an event called "Mind and Hand: A
Pageant", followed by a series of dance parties described below. Take the
opportunity for a study break and go out to party with friends!

o   Jazz, swing, and Big Band: The 30s and 40s are recreated in a supper
club, complete with a live orchestra, and a photo booth.

·        *Happy Days: Music of the 50s and 60s* — McDermott Court

o   50s and 60s music and diner atmosphere: Live doo-wop, and a photo booth.

·        *MTV Studio at the Disco-Tech: Music of the 70s and 80s* — North

o   70s and 80s disco and club: Featuring both a band and a DJ, and
airbrush tattoos.

·        *High-Tech meets Hip Hop: Music of the 90s and Today*— Kresge Oval

o   Metallic Lounge and Zinc Zone, with games and trivia, a DJ, and flash
tattoos

·        *Play that Game: Retro Games for All Ages* — Saxon Tennis Courts

o   Extra! Game room on the Saxon tennis courts…games and snacks for
everyone
