[UA Elections] Voting Errors

Dear undergrads,

Thank you so much for bringing the voting error to my attention.  Several
people experienced a message saying "You are not eligible to vote in this
election," after submitting a ballot.  After working to diagnose the
problem, it seems to be a problem with collecting the results of write-in
candidates.  To be in compliance with our election code at MIT,  it is an
important feature of all elections to have the ability for write-in
candidates to be submitted.

Therefore, I have generated new elections after fixing the write-in
candidate problem.  Now, all votes with write-in candidates will be
recorded properly.  I'm very sorry for any trouble this causes, and
especially to the candidates.  However, I do think this will more
accurately show the results from the student body.

To vote, please proceed to vote.mit.edu.  These are new elections, so even
if you have voted in the past 36 hours, please do so again.  The election
will run from now until Sunday at 5pm.  At that time, results will be
announced.

Again, my deepest apologies to all of the candidates and students.  Please
feel free to email to ua-elect at mit.edu with any concerns.
