Hello Undergraduates,

Hope your weekends went well, and that you enjoy the weather today!

This semester, on the fourth Wednesday of every month (e.g. next week), we
will be holding an undergraduate forum where students can come by and
collaborate to develop solutions to issues that they care about. This week,
we will be collecting a list of issues that matter to you! Please submit
your suggestions here.

*In 1949, MIT - and America - had just gone through an incredibly
transformative World War. The research apparatus of the Institute had grown
irreversibly, and MIT was basking in the glow of its contributions to the
war effort. America had just inaugurated President Truman; MIT was about to
inaugurate President Killian. MIT decided to expand the inauguration into a
"Mid-Century Convocation

prominence, featuring Winston Churchill and Harry Truman as speakers (!),
focusing on the state of technology and society and the role which MIT
might play in pioneering the future. (Truman canceled at the last minute,
