*Interesting piece of history of the week *from our UA History Chair,
Allan Sadun

list here <https://groups.mit.edu/webmoira/list/ua-history-interest> if
you'd like to receive more):

*From 2007 to 2011, dining overhaul was a major issue on campus. Dining
praograms became more mandatory as a result of the process, which is
summarized in Section 1.1 of the UA Student-Admin Collaboration
Committee's 2014 research report
<http://ua.scripts.mit.edu/wiki/sac/research.pdf> on issues that were
recent at the time. (The report also contains a summary of struggles
relating to Orientation, the RLAD program, and athletic and academic
changes.) Here is a history of documents relating to dining reform at MIT
<http://studentlife.mit.edu/house-dining-review/documents>, provided by DSL
as part of the 2010-2011 overhaul, and here is a summary of the late 1990's
dining review <http://web.mit.edu/committees/fswg/summary.html> in which
mandatory dining was successfully fought back.*
*Bon Appetit's contract for providing MIT house dining services is up for
renewal this year.*
