Help us call for a bold, multi-faceted MIT climate action plan!

  1.  DIVEST from fossil fuels.
  2.  REINVEST in campus sustainability & energy efficiency.
  3.  REINVENT climate research & education.







Did you know that unlike every other major U.S. university, MIT doesn't even have a campus emissions reduction target? Don't you think it's time to change that? And for MIT to establish a bold climate action plan?

Following last year’s campus-wide Climate Change Conversation, MIT's President Reif has now committed to deciding this fall semester<http://MITclimatecountdown.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=48f2a3d45e6e9b0806c114961&id=e8964d5150&e=2b7d6e67c3> how (or if) our university will take action against climate change. In the run-up to this potentially game-changing moment of decision, help us tip the balance by joining our Rally for Climate Action on Oct 2, the day of the MIT Corporation's Annual Board Meeting.

Together, let's flood the MIT campus in a sea of blue to urge the MIT administration and Board to take bold and immediate action against the threats of climate change. Join us at Kresge Oval<http://MITclimatecountdown.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=48f2a3d45e6e9b0806c114961&id=98b6ef3dc1&e=2b7d6e67c3>, wearing blue if you can, as a reminder of the flooding that global warming holds in store for our campus and for millions of people around the world - just one of the looming dangers of our changed climate. We'll hear from inspiring students and faculty about how together we can show MIT that all of us are watching and waiting. There will be live music by the pedal-powered band Melodeego<http://MITclimatecountdown.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=48f2a3d45e6e9b0806c114961&id=8f8d9be2e2&e=2b7d6e67c3> and an ice cream social.

Let’s celebrate how far we've come and encourage MIT to go further: to stand with its community; to stand with science; and to make climate history.
