[UA] Welcoming the New UA President and Vice President

​Dear Undergraduates,



It is with great pleasure that I announce the next UA President and Vice
President, Matthew Davis and Sophia Liu; it is clear that they will be
dedicated to continue building a strong government that will serve you.



Today's Council (the UA Council comprises of Dormitory Presidents,
Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Association,and Living Group Council)
meeting was the last of my term, and I decided to step down as President to
transition to President & Vice President-elect Matthew Davis & Sophia Liu.



This decision was made to preserve the stability of the UA and to refocus
the efforts of student leaders on initiatives aimed to better our student
life through the fourteen UA Executive Committees. It is my role as your
President to ensure the health of the organization, and I am acting so we
can continue to concentrate on topics that are important to us as students.



I encourage you to reach out to your living group leaders to ensure
collaboration amongst governance so we can combine our strengths to make
MIT better. Never underestimate your individual ability to make a large
difference!



Since my freshman year, I have been an active member of the UA and have had
so many enriching experiences that have shaped my MIT career. Thank you for
giving me the opportunity to be your advocate, and the support to improve
student life on campus.



I believe transparency between the UA and MIT undergraduates should be
improved, and, over the course of my term, the UA has been working on
several projects to improve our communication. We are preparing to launch a
new version of the UA website by the end of the term. In addition, we are
going to be disseminating a progress report of the initiatives undertaken
by the UA Executive Committees and Officers this year. My hope is that this
spirit of open communication between the UA and students prospers even
further under Matthew and Sophia's administration.
