Why Composting Matters


When organic waste, like food, is landfilled, it decays and becomes a significant source of methane<http://epa.gov/climatechange/ghgemissions/gases/ch4.html> - a greenhouse gas over 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide. Landfills account for more than 20 percent of all methane emissions in the U.S.
