Dear undergrads,

It is my pleasure to announce the opening of the Spring 2014 UA elections.
We will be electing next year's UA President and Vice President, as well as
the officers on each of the 2015, 2016, and 2017 Class Councils.

At the bottom of this email are links to election packets for anyone who
thinks they may be interested in running for a position. There is a
separate packet for each of the four elections (UA P/VP and the three Class
Councils), so please make sure you download the right one as they have
slightly different requirements. The packets contain lots of information
about the election, including what you need to do get on the ballot and
when you need to do it by.

If you're at all interested in running, I strongly encourage you to attend
an *info session* *this coming Wednesday 2/19* in the UA Council Chambers
(W20-400) from *7-8pm*. UA Officers and members of the UA Elections
Commission will go over the election logistics and will be happy to answer
any questions you may have about the election and the positions. *Dinner
will be served. *The UA will also be hosting an *open house* in the UA
Office (W20-401) during the hour preceding the info session (*6-7pm*) for
more informal questions and discussion. This is a great opportunity to meet
other potential candidates and get a feel for what the UA is like.

Finally, the current UA President and Vice President (Sidhanth Rao and
Devin Cornish) have blocked out some times during which they will be
available for one-on-one coffee chats with any interested candidates. The
times they have blocked out are *5-8pm* on *2/20* and *5-7pm* on *2/24 -
2/28*. If you're interested in scheduling a time to chat, please email them
at *ua-admin at mit.edu <ua-admin at mit.edu>*.
