How many of your professors have taught high school students? At a Quaker boarding school? That also happened to be a hog farm? Well, Prof. Catherine Drennan<http://web.mit.edu/chemistry/www/faculty/drennan.html> has!
Catherine Drennan is an HHMI <http://www.hhmi.org/grants/professors/drennan_bio.html> supported professor of chemistry and biology studying protein structure and function. In addition to being an accomplished researcher<http://web.mit.edu/cld/research/research.html>, Prof. Drennan also teaches 5.111 and revolutionized how it was taught.
If you're interested in hearing about biology, chemistry, being a woman in science, or you just want to hear an inspiring story, join us for Prof. Drennan's talk this afternoon.
In case you cannot make it, you can watch the live stream<http://www.ustream.tv/channel/ua-coe-lecture-series#utm_campaign=unknown&utm_source=13034067&utm_medium=social> starting at about 2:50 PM.
See you there!
