*Becoming a Member of the UA*



Do you want to be involved in your very own student government? The MIT
Undergraduate Association is currently accepting applications for their
myriad of executive committees. These committees span across all aspects of
student life at MIT, so you have many different options to choose from!



This year presents you with the rare opportunity to be a part of the newly
reformed association run by and dedicated to the pressing needs of the
undergraduate student body. As part of the UA, you will be able to address
the wishes of your peers while simultaneously collaborating with the MIT
administration to bring your ideas to fruition.



What can the UA offer you in return? In working closely with your fellow
students and highly-ranking MIT officials, you will gain valuable
leadership experience, learn to think on your feet, and make decisions that
will be felt throughout the MIT community for years to come.



All the committees are now looking for new members to bring new ideas and a
fresh perspective to a stronger and more dynamic UA.

*UA’s New ‘Campus Policy Leaders’ Program*



The Executive Board of the Undergraduate Association invites all freshmen
and sophomores interested in following and affecting campus policy to apply
to become a member of our new *Campus Policy Leaders* program.



As part of this novel initiative, members will be assigned senior UA
members as mentors to learn about the decision-making process of the UA and
MIT, will meet exclusively with key administrators and faculty of the
Institute, and will be given the opportunity to come up with a project of
their very own to improve undergraduate student life at MIT.

*President Reif’s Inauguration*



Join us in celebrating President Reif's inauguration on September 21,
2012 as the MIT community participates in a myriad of activities including,
but not limited to, running the Beaver Dash, organizing your very own team
for the Around the Dome Campus Quest, and volunteering to assist at the
Friday and Saturday events.



Students are also invited to participate in the symposium to be held on
September 20, 2012 by proposing novel ideas and presentations. We hope that
the undergraduate student body will be thoroughly involved in the process
so that communication between students and President Reif is off to a
strong start.

*Fall Weekend ‘12*



Featuring Michael Ian Black (VH1’s “I love the…” series, NBC TV’s “Ed”, and
the comedy “Run, Fatboy, Run”) and Hannibal Buress (Comedy Central’s “Live
at Gotham”, Timeout Magazine’s “Funniest Person in Chicago”, and one of the
New York Magazine’s “top 10 Comics to Watch), this year's Fall Weekend will
take place on Friday, October 5th at 8 PM in the Kresge auditorium.
