Undergrads,
The upcoming year is a critical one for student government. Amidst
continuing budget cuts, strong UA leadership is required to effectively
communicate the perspective of students in an institution driven by
research. We need your help.
Over the next few weeks, we will be building a team capable of meeting this
challenge. As an officer in the UA, you will shape the future of the
Institute by ensuring that student input is solicited and incorporated. You
will have the opportunity to plan events, coordinate projects, and influence
policy.
To apply, respond to this e-mail by 5pm on 4/9 with the following
information:
1) Name, Class Year, MIT e-mail
2) Position(s) of interest (see below; up to 3; in order of preference)
3) Qualifications / Accomplishments (no more than 100 words; annotated list
is good)
4) Answer the questions: Why are you interested in this position? What
ideas do you have for it for next year? (no more than 150 words per
position)
5) References (up to 2)
6) Availability for 30 minute interview (3 options in order of preference)
Please realize that, if we decide to nominate you for Senate approval, your
application will be publicly available prior to your UA Senate confirmation
hearing. While the deadline is 4/9, we will begin interviewing this week,
so we encourage you to apply soon.
