UA Response to the Institute-wide Planning Task Force Preliminary Report

Hey everyone,

As many of you know, Dean Hastings recently emailed students with 
information on how the budget conversation is going to proceed. In case 
you are curious, here is a link to the UA's Response to the 
Institute-wide Planning Task Force Preliminary Report 
<http://web.mit.edu/ua/docs/updated_taskforce_response.pdf>, which was 
mentioned in the Dean's email and was a direct product of the feedback 
provided by undergraduates. The Final Report of the Institute-wide 
Planning Task Force is expected to be released in the coming weeks and 
Institute Committees and working groups will soon be studying these 
recommendations in further detail with a focus on the implementation 
required. As always, the UA will continue conversations with 
administrators about how undergraduates would like to see these 
recommendations implemented.

Please continue to let us know what you think about the developments on 
the budget situation at MIT. Members of the Undergraduate Association 
will be visiting several dorms this week as part of our annual Dorm 
Storm event, which will provide a great opportunity to speak to students 
working on these issues.
