Hi All,

The Short version: the Institute is trying to cut $150 million dollars
from its budget, and needs your help. Unprecedented times call for
unprecedented solutions.

As I hope everyone realizes, MIT is going to be taking drastic
measures to decrease the Institute spending up to 15% over the next
three years. The Budget Task Forces, which I contacted you about in
January are well underway.

As part of this effort, the Institute has created mechanisms to gather
feedback from the community as a whole:

Make suggestions anonymously or with your MIT certificates. There is
a call for big ideas, those that will save millions rather than
thousands. Every week, the ideas for different categories are
gathered and reviewed by the Chairs of the Task Forces review all the
suggestions placed on the Ideabank. Real ideas, real involvement.

I hope you will contribute. Lastly, I encourage you to remember to
vote in the UA elections before Friday: http://vote.mit.edu

Best,

Noah
