Greetings from your Undergraduate Association Committee on Student
Space Planning,

Do you like working in the Student Center reading room, but wish it
didn't look so bland?
Do you have a work of art in your head, just waiting to be created and
showcased to your fellow MIT undergraduates?
Then enter the UA Art Competition, and get your work installed on the
walls of the newly renovated Student Center reading room! We are
taking submissions for the theme "Life at MIT" throughout the next
four weeks, and will choose a number of them to be framed and
displayed in the reading room. For details and entry forms, please
visit the website at: http://web.mit.edu/david733/www/artcomp/

We would also like to announce a set of discussion sessions in the
coming weeks focusing on a variety of student space needs. This
Thursday (2/15) evening will be the first of these sessions, to be
held in the UA Senate Chamber, and will focus on performing arts space
and the needs of performing arts groups. We invite anyone interested
in coming to voice your opinions, ideas, and complaints. Plus, we'll
have free food!
The new UA website will be updated with more details about this and
subsequent discussion sessions, which will include topics like
cultural student group needs, the prospect of on-campus FSILG housing,
and the state of Walker Memorial. Please check it often for the latest
schedule and room or time changes: http://web.mit.edu/UA/www/

Important dates:
UA Art Competition submission deadline: Monday, March 12, 11:59pm
Discussion session on performing arts space at MIT: Thursday, February
15, 7:30pm, UA Senate Chamber (4th floor of the Student Center)

Feel free to send any questions, ideas, criticisms, and issues
important to you to the committee directly at ua-spaceplan at mit.edu.

Good luck with the spring term!
- The Committee on Student Space Planning
