UA Elections: Open House/Candidates Meeting this Tuesday Night

UA Open House/Candidates Meeting this Tuesday Night (Sept 5th) at 8:00pm 
in W20-400!

Fellow Undergraduates,

Welcome back upperclassmen and again welcome to the Class of 2010! 
Hopefully you are unpacked, settled and ready to start the new term. I 
would like to take this opportunity to invite you to consider becoming 
more involved in student advocacy this term. In the next few weeks, the 
Undergraduate Association (UA) will elect a Class of 2010 Council, a new 
Senate to represent the student body and fill eight different committees 
specializing on different issues of interest to undergrads. Getting 
involved with any of these groups are a great way to help to improve (or 
preserve) the student experience at MIT.

The UA is hosting an Open House/Candidates Meeting this Tuesday, 
September 5th (at 8:00 PM in W20-400) to provide information about 
running for Senate or joining a Committee. Particularly if you are 
interested in running for a UA Senate position or 2010 Class Council 
office, please attend. At this meeting, you will receive the petition 
packet necessary to run. You will also learn more about the requirements 
for each position, the election code and  the campaign rules.

Sept 5 - Candidates Meeting
Sept 21 - Petition Packets due
Sept 22 - Campaigning begins at 8 am (for official candidates)
Sept 25 - Online voting begins
Sept 28 - Online voting ends
Sept 29 - Paper Balloting
Sept 30 - Results announced
