UA Wellness Week starts TOMORROW!!
(Starting Monday, April 10-Saturday, April 15th)
We've got morning, afternoon, and evening events designed to help you
destress, stay active, and eat healthy going on ALL WEEK!! (Over 20 events!)

Yoga and meditation classes (a different introductory class every morning!)
Beds for naps in the student center
Free professional massages, manicures, makeup, and movies
Healthy eating workshop (lunch provided!)

Monday
9 am 10 am Introduction to Yoga
Kresge Oval Taught by: Zan Barry (MIT Medical)
(Sessions are 30 minutes each.) Take an introductory look at Yoga!
Beginners welcome, but bring your own towels to avoid grass stains! Tea
will be served. Prizes include gift certificates to University Florist.
11 am 2 pm Situp/Pushup Competition
Kresge Oval
Join us for 5 minutes to compete in our informal situp and pushup
competition! Prizes include certificates for free half-hour massages and
certificates to Mary Chung's.
12 pm 2 pm Frisbee Golf Competition
Kresge Oval Held by: sMITe
Take a few minutes out of your lunch to throw the disc around, while
meeting the friendly people on MIT's Ultimate Frisbee Team, sMITe. Prizes
include certificates to All Asia, Bertucci's and La Verde's.
3 pm 4 pm Hour of Silence
MIT Chapel Held by: Amy McCreath (MIT Chaplains)
Taking some time out to catch our breath in the middle of the day is good
for body, mind, and spirit! Stop in for a few minutes or for the whole
hour, to read, write in your journal, meditate, think, or just look around.
No worship service. Just you and a beautiful quiet space.
7 pm 9 pm Fitness Fair
Z-Center Held by: UA Athletics, Varsity & Club Teams, Z-Center
Ever want to know how squash is played? Ever consider taking a spinning
class but didn't quite know what it was? At our fitness fair, we have over
15 club, varsity, and PE workshops that are aimed at introducing you to the
basics, from ball handling to throwing a punch! The more workshops you
attend, the more raffle tickets you'll get for great prizes! Prizes include
certificates to Toscanini's and The Coop.
Tuesday
9 am 10 am Introduction to Polynesian Dancing
Kresge Oval Taught by: Hawaiian Club
(Sessions are 30 minutes each.) Take an introductory look at Polynesian
dance! Beginners welcome, and tea will be served. Prizes include gift
certificates to University Florist.
10 am 2 pm First Aid Basics
Kresge Oval Taught by: MIT EMS
(Sessions are 45 minutes and begin on the hour.) Come take 45 minutes to
learn some valuable first aid skills that could save a life (including your
own!) Prizes include Bertucci's gift certificates.
11 am 3 pm NapZone
20 Chimneys and Mezzanine Lounge Held by: Medlinks
Need to recharge? Take a short nap on the cots we've provided just for you!
We'll also be teaching breathing techniques that can help you get a more
restful sleep. Tea will be provided. Prizes include certificates to
Toscanini's and The Coop.
5 pm 7 pm Doctor to the Dormitories
McCormick, Sidney Pacific Held by: MIT Medical
If you've always had a health question but never had a chance to run over
to MIT Med, now's your chance! Questions about what you're eating, or about
that friend next door that seems to be despondent recently? Come talk to
us! We're bringing our team of medical experts, from sleep to nutrition
to psychology to a dormitory near you for an informal Q&A! Come meet some
of the friendly faces at MIT Medical, and snack on some healthy munchies!
Prizes include certificates to All Asia and Bertucci's.
7 pm 9 pm Stand Up Stand Out
6-120 Held by: Panhel
"Why settle for fitting in when you are meant to stand out?" This workshop
for MIT women deals with issues of image and perfectionism. Prizes include
lunch for two at Black Sheep.
8 pm - 9:40 pm Movie Showing: Stoned
26-100 Held by: LSC
Take a break with LSC's sneak preview of this biographical film about the
dramatic life of Brian Jones, founder of the Rolling Stones.
