Dear Undergraduates,

During her transition into the role of MIT's 16th President, Dr. Susan
Hockfield has actively sought to engage the MIT student body through an
advisory group led by the Undergraduate Association and Graduate Student
Council.

The main purpose of the Student Advisory Board will be to provide
President-elect Hockfield with an accurate and diverse perspective on
MIT culture and community, challenges and opportunities facing MIT, and
qualities and priorities of MIT students.

The Presidential Student Advisory Board will consist of undergraduate
and graduate student members, and will be jointly chaired by the UA and
GSC Presidents. The board is a continuation of the spirit and success
of student participation in the Student Advisory Group to the
Corporation Presidential Search Committee, formed last spring.

If you are interested in developing a vision for the future of the MIT
student experience, we highly encourage you to apply. *The application
can be found at http://ua.mit.edu and is now due by Wednesday, October
20th at 5 PM in the Undergraduate Association office, Room 401 in the
Student Center (W20-401).*

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to contact
us. We are looking forward to your participation.

Sincerely,

Harel M. Williams
