**_About the Task Force:
_*The Sloan Trading Room Task Force (TRTF) is hired by Sloan Technology
Services to maintain and assist in the operations of the trading room.
Formed by Professor Andrew Lo, this group maximizes the potential of the
school's state-of-the-art trading room. The TRTF is dedicated to
teaching finance and trading to the MIT community. Each month, the TRTF
presents trading principles and runs trading simulations on equity,
fixed income, and derivatives markets. The TRTF also serves as a liaison
between the trading room and interested corporations, speakers, and
faculty. We hold frequent company-sponsored trading sessions as well as
yearly trading competitions.
*_About the Sloan Trading Room:
_*The main mission of the Sloan Trading Room is twofold: 1) to encourage
students to apply principles learned from Sloan classes to the fast
paced environment of a trading floor and 2) to permit students to
explore the career path of a professional trader. Since its founding in
1997, the trading room has been widely successful. The combination of
knowledge and skills acquired from the trading room is in much demand by
corporations competing in today’s increasingly global business
environment. Moreover, the many tools present in the trading room have
nearly unlimited capabilities.
